To be an effective mental health worker, supervision is necessary to learn or improve complex intervention skills. It is a safe place to develop your skills and your professional identity.
Some CCCF psychologists provide clinical supervision services for psychologists or other healthcare professionals. Supervision is tailored to the supervisee's requests and personalized to his or her needs, therapeutic challenges, and clientele. Although all supervisors use an integrative approach, each favours a mix of different theoretical orientations depending on their personal training and clinical experience. Supervisory arrangements are discussed between supervisor and supervisee during an initial telephone contact. This allows the supervisee to check whether the supervisory framework is appropriate (fees, modality, frequency, etc.) and whether he or she feels comfortable starting a supervisory relationship with the supervising psychologist.
